Anise Oil (Pimpinella anisum)

What is it? Anise is an annual plant that grows up to 1 ½ feet high and blooms white flowers during July and August. Anise has been used as an expectorant, glandular stimulant, to decrease appetite, aid in digestion, as a vital organ stimulant, for colic, asthma, colds, to help promote lactation and to increase libido. Anise is also high in B vitamins, choline, calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and estrogen.
