Chamomile Oil (Matricaria chamomilla)

What is it? The chamomile plant reaches three feet tall, has feathery leaves, and daisy-like flowers. Both Roman and German varieties are used. Medicinal uses of chamomile include: antispasmodic, nervine, anti-inflammatory, indigestion, ulcers, fever, headaches, liver and bladder problems, menstrual cramps, colic, anxiety, insomnia, arthritis, immune stimulant, appetite stimulant, bronchitis, and mental alertness. Chamomile naturally contains traces of Vitamin A, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, and zinc. Chamomile may cause allergic reactions in those allergic to ragweed.
