What does sustainable mean?
Quality of not being harmful to the environment or depleting natural resources, and thereby supporting long-term ecological balance.
Choosing ingredient or packaging components that are sustainable, either renewable or recyclable ensures long-term availability of resources.
-We choose plants as most are renewable. Petroleum is non-renewable with limited and finite availability.
-Recycling a material (i.e. post-consumer recycled plastic) extends the availability of that finite resource.
