FAQ

What is a retinol? What is the difference between Retinols and Retin A?

Retinol is an antioxidant and an important cell-communicating ingredient. When retinol absorbs into skin, it can actually “tell” living skin cells to make healthier, younger cells and to enhance the production of new skin cells. Retinol does its work by stimulating cellular turnover from the deeper layers up—not in the uppermost layers. Those uppermost layers are where AHA or BHA steps in to help skin shed unhealthy, dead, built-up skin cells. Retinol is a natural derivative of vitamin A and can be found naturally in the body. Retinol is found in many products that don’t require a prescription. Retinols are generally gentler than Retin A. Retin A is not a natural form of vitamin A and is created synthetically.

FAQ

Is glycerin good to use in skin care?

Glycerin is a humectant, which is a substance that promotes the retention of moisture. There is so much water in the atmosphere that studies have shown that the humectant attracts the moisture into the skin and keeps the skin moisturized and nourished. Glycerin is non toxic so it can be used for skin, face and babies. Glycerin has been shown to provide a protective barrier, help the skin cells mature properly and aid in bruised or swollen skin. Organic glycerin is best because you can be assured that the starting material to make it is an organic oil like palm oil.
